Carrotmob

05/03/2010

I am writing this post from the Rocky-Mathey computer cluster, mainly because the room is air conditioned and I am trying to escape the sweltering heat.

SURGE is sponsoring a Carrotmob at Twist this evening from 5 to 10. A Carrotmob is a reverse boycott, meant to reward businesses for improving their sustainability.

Organizers get a large group of people to patronize the business on one day, in return for which the business agrees to put a percentage of the profit into improving sustainability. Twist has decided to put 100% of everything they make between 5 and 11 this evening into improving their store’s energy efficiency. So come join us for a nice yogurt-y break from the heat and studying! If you don’t melt in the mean time.
